Glacier Blasting were contracted to work on a multi-phase infrastructure project in Rankin Inlet which is located in the Itivia Harbour area of Nunuvut. The scope of the project comprised of two phases:
- Phase I: Construction of a tank farm and a laydown area
- Phase II: Improvements to an existing granite quarry
The project was located near the local airport with 24/7 drilling and loading, having no delays to the airport traffic. The project's design was able to minimize traffic through the community as well as providing employment to the local community. Additionally, the project was completed without any safety incidents and complied with all local regulations.
